I failed to throw the bowl last year and I gave up.
Now, its the second time I make the bowl, from Chris comments, its lifting is good enough, just need to focus on the curve of the bowl. Its quite a breakthrough to me ! I should face my failure, and get over it !

Tried to make a typical stoneware traditional chinese bowl, keep the rim slightly opened, with short foot.

Haven't been to ceramic class for so long, I took much time to get the techniques back of lifting, centering.
Already 4 classes, I just have one pot kept, and others were out into trash bin. This is one of them.
Chris told me my lifting is good, but the form is not what I really like. Hope I can have some more good pots before winter come, before the very dry hand !

Finally, I only keep 3 bowls !

They were recycled !

Haven't go to ceramic class for more than 4 months !
Its the first time I threw 5 bowls in 2.5 hrs !
I didn't trash anyone of them.
I don't know why all the bowls can stand...at least hold it,
and stand still when the class end ! =)
....as I did not throw for really long time.
For sure, I will not keep all of them,
hum... maybe one of them, lemme see !

Just met Movana in a gallery, she is a curator there, orangize exhibitions. We chatted, and found that I came across her art pieces somewhere, its in JCCAC !! She said she focused on exploring "wearable art" by creating "body containers" sculptures, which are to examine the relationship between clothes and the media, and also to reflect on our consumption of disposable commodities.

泥板project. A book cover !!

After 1st fired.
After a week, clay plates dry a bit, then, painted with white clay ( in liquid ), and wait for first fire.

Its formed by 2 clay plates, added rough lace pattern. Pattern should be randomly made, and a bit burden.
Arch joined 2 plates together, used some wetness plates inside to hold the book cover. They will stay until 2nd fired.Layout first !

Clay slab and texture project again, its a vase. Used metal brush to create holes randomly. And pull.......natural texture formed. Newspaper used as stand to hold the thin clay.....as its easy collapse.

Vase, 16cm tall. Covered with thinly white clay after 1st fire. Use big brush to paint ( green) causally on top, oil freely flowed when during 2nd fire ( abt 1600 temperature ).

Before 1st fire, its covered by thinly white clay, and used toothbrush to carry out some white clay, natural lines formed.
